Türk Loydu celebrated its 62nd anniversary and its acceptance as a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) at a remarkable event on the evening of January 20, 2024, at Cıragan Palace, Istanbul.

The evening was attended by IACS Council Chair, Istanbul Governor, Deputy Ministers of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directors of the Turkish Ministry of Transport, IACS General Secretary, Chairman of the Turkish Chamber of Marine Engineers, Chairman of Turkish Shipbuilding Association, Chairman of the Turkish Shipowners' Association, Chairman of the Turkish Insurance and Reinsurance Companies Association, Board Members of the Turkish Chamber of Maritime Commerce, Board Members of the Turk Loydu Foundation, executives and employees of Turk Loydu Conformity Assessment Services, as well as many esteemed guests from the maritime sector and members of the media.

Prof. Dr. Oral Erdogan, Chairman of Turk Loydu Foundation said in his opening speech, "Turk Loydu was established by Turkish Chamber of Naval Architects in the early 1960s. Turk Loydu will now be stakeholders not only locally but also in global arena. We will provide services for the world maritime sector. We will jointly use all the knowledge we have for the benefit of the world." Prof. Dr. Oral Erdogan expressed his gratitude to all partners and Turk Loydu employees who contributed to the IACS membership process and emphasized the importance and potential of Turk Loydu, highlighting its future global contributions to IACS's work. He also announced the establishment of the Turk Loydu Academy within the Turk Loydu Foundation. 

The IACS Council Chair Roberto Cazzulo, who took the stage, congratulated Turk Loydu and emphasized that IACS will achieve great accomplishments together with Turk Loydu. 

The evening continued with the gala dinner. Turk Loydu will continue to contribute to the maritime world with its future projects and collaborations.
