History
Türk Loydu was established in 1960 in Istanbul, Turkey and is recognised as one of the oldest classification societies in Turkey. The aim of the organisation is to ensure safety and raise standards in the fields of marine, construction and industry. Türk Loydu carries out inspection and certification activities in a wide range from shipbuilding to industrial facilities by providing services in accordance with international standards. Over time, in integration with global developments, Türk Loydu has assumed important roles in the fields of renewable energy and environment as well as the maritime sector. Today, Türk Loydu maintains its leadership in the sector as a trusted brand at both national and international level.

Türk Loydu Yacht Department Established.

Türk Loydu was accepted as the 12th member of IACS (International Association of Classification Societies).

Türk Loydu celebrated its 60th anniversary.
Turkey's first Amphibious Assault Ship TCG Anadolu's class certificate was delivered.
The controls of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, the world's longest centre span bridge, have been completed.

Türk Loydu Remote Survey Centre was established.

Türk Loydu R&D Centre accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Technology was established.

Türk Loydu China office opened in Shanghai.

For the first time, it received authorisation under CE from the European Union and entered the Paris MoU High Performance List.

Türk Loydu took part in the MİLGEM project, the cornerstone of the Turkish defence industry.

Türk Loydu received accreditation according to SWEDAC ISO/9000 standard in 2001 and became the first national organisation to be accredited in this scope.

Türk Loydu was authorised as a National Recognised Classification Society.

With an agreement made with DNV, the rules of this organisation started to be used. Türk Loydu was authorised to carry out all survey works of DNV in Turkey as an authorised body.

With the amendment made to the Civil Code, it received the status of a foundation.

The first Registry Book was published.

Türk Loydu classed the first large vessel, the Harem Car Ferry.
