21.10.2025

OECD Uluslararası Ulaştırma Forumu Araştırma Komitesi Toplantısı'nda, Ulaştırma ve Altyapı Bakanlığı'nı temsilen Türk Loydu Vakfı Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı ve Piri Reis Üniversitesi Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Oral Erdoğan katılım gösteriyor.

Toplantıda söz alan Erdoğan aşağıdaki sunumu yaptı:

"Türkiye believes that transport connectivity should benefit both individuals and the broader economy. While each country may have different interests in achieving this goal, in the end, it will benefit everyone. We are convinced that well-connected transportation systems enhance productivity, support economic and sustainable development, and improve quality of life.

Türkiye has made significant contributions to international transport connectivity. As a pioneer in civil aviation, we connect 67 countries within a 4-hour flight, comprising 1.5 billion people and generating a trade volume of 25 trillion dollars. This strategic location places Türkiye at the heart of a dynamic global economic ecosystem.

One of our key initiatives is the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, connecting Asia to Europe via Türkiye, offering faster and more efficient alternatives to traditional maritime routes. Another key project is the Development Road Project, linking Iraq's Faw Port to Europe and Türkiye, reducing transit time between Asia and Europe by up to 15 days.

Türkiye's transport vision focuses on green, smart, and integrated systems, aiming to increase rail transport, reduce carbon emissions, digitize ports, and connect transportation with energy corridors.

In the last 20 years, Türkiye has invested 290 billion dollars in transportation infrastructure, delivering major projects like the Eurasia Tunnel, Marmaray, and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. Our recognition as a Strategic Partner at the Three Seas Initiative Summit highlights our role in enhancing regional connectivity.

Digitalization is a priority for Türkiye, improving security, reducing time losses, and increasing transparency through systems like e-permits and digital tachographs, resulting in time and cost savings.

In the Black Sea region, Türkiye remains committed to fostering inclusive cooperation in transportation, communication, and security. We are strengthening regional connectivity through projects like the Black Sea Coastal Highway and Iyidere Port, enhancing trade routes and port access.

As always, Türkiye will continue to work together with its neighboring countries, regional partners, and the entire world to foster connectivity.

Thank you for your attention."
