Türk Loydu Authorized to Issue Suez Canal Special Tonnage Certificates

Türk Loydu has been recognized by the Suez Canal Authority as an authorized organization to issue the Suez Canal Special Tonnage Certificate.

Following Türk Loydu's full membership in the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), its authority to issue special tonnage certificates used for Suez Canal transits has also been internationally confirmed. Accordingly, all Suez Canal Special Tonnage Certificates issued by Türk Loydu with an effective date of 1 November 2023 or later will be accepted by the Suez Canal Authority.

As one of the most important passageways in global maritime trade, the Suez Canal plays a critical role in world trade volume. Special tonnage calculations used to determine canal transit fees are a key component of the process for vessels. Therefore, the Suez Canal Special Tonnage Certificate is among the essential documents required for canal transits.
